FONTANA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT 2008

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will the formation of the fire district raise my taxes?
A: It WILL NOT raise property taxes. The utility users’ tax on residential property was eliminated in June 2004. The utility users’ tax on commercial property will end in June 2009.

Q: How does the new district affect fire response times?
A: Firefighter and paramedic response times will remain the same after the district is formed.

Q: What number do I call for an emergency?
A: Residents will continue to call 911 for an emergency. For non-emergency calls, residents can call (909) 829-4441 for assistance.

Q: What are the advantages of forming a City fire district?
A: Property tax revenues will remain local, instead of being diverted to other areas of the county. The City will be able to utilize that revenue to make needed improvements to fire stations and equipment.
