region in support of aquatic facilities and swim programs.
Operation Splash has been developed as a part of Kaiser Permanente’s
Community Benefit Program and Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) program www.kaiserpermanente.org.
“Operation Splash was developed as a part of Kaiser Permanente’s
focus on reducing obesity in the communities by increasing opportunities for safe physical
activity,” says Jennifer Resch-Silverstri, Director of Public Affairs for Kaiser Permanente
in Fontana and Ontario.
With a sizable donation from Kaiser Permanente for $50,000, and through a
partnership with Healthy Fontana, the Fontana Aquatics program provides pre-selected
children and their families, as well as seniors, with free registrations for a series
of ten lessons that take place over a two week period at three local City pools.
“Fontana and Kaiser Permanente have a long history of mutual support. As a growing family-oriented
community, Fontana was a good fit for our Operation Splash program,” adds Resch-Silvestri,
An additional program will be featured at the Fontana Aquatic Center when
it opens October 25. The Fontana Aquatic Center is accepting applications for lifeguards
and lifeguard instructors. For more information about the Fontana Aquatic Center, Operation
