Mold,
Shape, and Create at the Art Depot

Fontana,
California, May 1, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite residents to register for upcoming arts
and crafts classes that promise to help condition the eyes, hands, and mind. Cartooning, a class for ages 8-17
and $30 for 4 weeks is available only at the Don Day Neighborhood Center, 17501 Live Oak Avenue. All other classes
are offered at the Art Depot, located at 16822 Spring Street. Classes, times, and fees vary.
Cartooning at the Don Day Neighborhood Center teaches drawing of shapes, characters, and developing a humorous
style. The class will cover faces, figures, animals, and more. A $10 material fee is due to the instructor the
first day of class. Classes begin Saturday, May 3.
Beginning Acrylic Painting and Paper Mache at the Art Depot is $60 for 4 weeks and is a comprehensive study in
the art of using acrylic paints. Students learn the basic principles of the art form and then apply them to paper
mache objects. Classes begin Tuesday, May 6 and are for ages 8 and older.
Creative Crafts for Kids is $60 for 4 weeks and offers students with developmental disabilities, ages 4-10, with
an opportunity to learn how to express themselves through hands on arts and crafts projects. Classes begin Wednesday,
May 7 and are held at the Fontana Art Association, 8536 Sierra Avenue. On-site registration is not permitted.
Basic Drawing at the Art Depot is $35 for 6 weeks and provides beginners with all of the basic principles needed
for drawing figures and shapes. Classes begin Wednesday, May 7.
