Dance class registrations underway in Fontana

Fontana, California, May 20, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite residents to register for upcoming dance classes offered at the Don Day neighborhood center, 14501 Live Oak Avenue and Cypress neighborhood center located at 8380 Cypress Avenue. Classes begin the last week of May.

The Don Day neighborhood center located south of the I-10 offers a variety of dancing experiences to residents of all ages. Dance, Dance, Dance a class for children ages 3-5, 5-9, and 10-20 introduces students to ballet, jazz, hip hop, and tap. The class begins Tuesday, May 27 and is $35 for 4 weeks and $45 for 4 weeks for advanced students. Salsa/Cha-Cha & Merengue is a fun introduction to some of the hottest dance moves for anyone ages 10 and older. The class begins Thursday, May 29 and is $36 for 4 weeks. Mexican Folk Dance for ages 5 and older will introduce all new dancers to regional dances of Mexico. The class is offered at Don Day neighborhood center beginning Wednesday, May 28 for $25 for 4 weeks. Mexican Folk Dance is also available at the Cypress neighborhood center beginning Wednesday, May 28 and is $15 for 4 weeks.

The Cypress neighborhood center has several other dance classes available for citizens. Ballet/Tap/Jazz Pre-Dance is a wonderful introduction to dance for children ages 2.5 to 4. The class begins Thursday, May 29 for $30 for 4 weeks. A more advanced level for students ages 7 to 12 is available on Thursday, May 29 for $30 for 4 weeks. Let’s Dance Pre-Intermediate introduces ballet, jazz, hip hop, and tap to students ages 3 to 4, 5 to 7, and 8 to 14. The classes begin Saturday, May 31 for $30 for 4 weeks. A more advanced intermediate session is available for $50 for 4 weeks. Middle Eastern/Tribal Belly Dance is available beginning Wednesday, May 28 for ages 10 and older for $25 for 4 weeks.
