Families Improve More than Soccer Skills

Release Date: April 9, 2008

Fontana, California, March 25, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite families to register for an all new Soccer Skillz Camp offered through the Don Day Neighborhood Center, beginning Friday, April 4 at D'Arcy Elementary, 11645 Elm Avenue. The camp is offered to youth, ages 10-17 on Friday afternoons.

The series was developed for using soccer to encourage physical fitness and personal character development. Participants will work towards technique improvements and creating a positive self-image, exemplifying proper decision making skills, and community responsibility. A Parent-and-Me class is also offered at Southridge Park, 14501 Live Oak Avenue for children ages 18 months to 2.5 years. The class is $40 for 4 weeks and helps develop motor and socialization skills using the positive series outlines.

Registrations are accepted at any neighborhood center, online at www.fontanarecreation.org, or by calling (909) 428-8383.
