Guitar,
Flute, and Piano Classes in Fontana

Fontana,
California, April 21, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite residents interested in learning to play
the guitar or flute to register for upcoming music classes at Don Day Neighborhood Center, located at 14501 Live
Oak Avenue, Cypress Neighborhood Center located at 8380 Cypress Avenue, or Heritage Neighborhood Center, 7350
W. Liberty Parkway.
Flute-a-Phone Group Lessons will teach students ages 6-10 how to play a flute. Students will be taught
how to read music pages and must provide their own instrument. The class is $50 for four weeks and held at Chaparral
Elementary, 14000 Shadow Drive every Monday evening.
Guitar Lessons are offered at Don Day Neighborhood Center and Heritage Neighborhood Center. The lessons
teach students ages 8 and older to play the guitar. Students learn finger placement, strumming, chords, and more.
Students provide their own guitar and tuning pitch. Classes are available at Don Day for $50 for 8 weeks beginning
Wednesday, April 30. Classes at Heritage are available on Saturdays for $40 for 7 weeks beginning Saturday, May
3. A Groovin Guitar Lesson and Private Guitar Lesson are also available at the Don Day
Neighborhood Center for ages 10 and older beginning Monday, April 28.
Piano classes are available for piano primer, grade one, and grade two for ages 5 to 18 at the Cypress
Neighborhood Center. The classes progressively teach note reading, major scales, chords, and the theory of music.
Lessons are by appointment and prices vary depending on ability level.
