Classes
that focus on Language

Fontana,
California, September 15, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite the public
to register for upcoming language classes. Letter Learner, Learn with Fun,
Let’s Write Out Loud, Homework Whiz, Language Arts Tutoring, English as a Second Language, and K-12
Tutoring are all available to help both students and parents. Times, locations,
dates, and pricing all vary.
Letter Learner is available at the Heritage Neighborhood Center
located at 7350 W. Liberty Parkway for ages 4 to 5 on Fridays from 9 to 9:45 am beginning
September 26. The class is $12 for 4 weeks and introduces students to the alphabet and
ways of identifying and writing letters. A $3 supply fee is due to the instructor the
first day of school.
Learn with Fun for ages 1.5 to 5 is available at the Don Day
Neighborhood Center located at 14501 Live Oak Avenue on Fridays from 8:30 to 10:30 am
or 11 am to 1 pm for $20 for 4 weeks. The class introduces children to music, books,
and crafts. A $5 supply fee is due to the instructor on the first day of class.
Let’s Write Out Loud for students ages 8 to 16 is available
on Mondays beginning September 22 from 3 to 4:30 pm or for ages 16 and older on Saturdays,
beginning September 27 from 11 am to 12:30 pm. The poetry program is a workshop designed
to provide students with opportunities to discover new talents and abilities, enhance
their vocabularies, and focus on different styles of poetry. The class is held at Heritage
Neighborhood Center.
Homework Whiz for ages 7 to 18 is available on Mondays and
Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm at the Heritage Neighborhood Center for $96 for 4 weeks. The
sessions are designed to assist students with homework assignments. The professional
tutoring staff will help prepare for upcoming tests or explain daily concepts. Subject
areas include Math, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Physics, Chemistry, Phonics, Reading,
Writing, Spanish, and more.
Language Arts Tutoring Session through the Don Day Neighborhood
Center is held at the Canyon Crest Elementary School located at 11851 Cherry Avenue.
The sessions are for K through 5th grade on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 pm. Students will find
ways to improve their reading and comprehension studies. The series is $25 for 4 weeks.
K-12 Tutoring and Homework Club Session is also available at Canyon Crest Elementary
on Thursdays from 6:45 to 8 pm for $40 for 4 weeks beginning September 25.
ESL for ages 15 and older is offered to ages 15 and older at
Canyon Crest Elementary. The class is $40 for 4 weeks on Tuesdays from 7 to 8 pm beginning
September 23.
