Dance
classes at Heritage Neighborhood Center

Fontana,
California, October 1, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite the public to
register for upcoming classes in Hip Hop, Ballet/Tap/Jazz Pre-Dance or I and II, Latin
Dance Salsa/Cha-Cha and Merengue, Musical Inspired Dance, Contemporary/Modern Dance,
Polynesian, and Little Prince and Princess Ballet. Class times and prices vary.
Hip Hop, introduces the latest dance moves and choreography.
This is a great class for anyone interested in dance, team, or song. Classes are held
on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm for ages 6 to 10 and from 4:30 to 5:30 pm for ages 10
and older. Sessions are $25 for 4 weeks and begin Monday, October 20.
Ballet/Tap/Jazz Pre Dance is for ages 3 to 6 on Thursdays from
4 to 5 pm beginning October 23 for $30 for 4 weeks. The class introduces ballet, tap,
and jazz. Classes are great for coordination, self-confidence, and physical fitness.
Ballet/Tap/Jazz Levels I-II takes the pre-dance a step further
with more advanced routines for ages 7 and older on Thursdays, from 5 to 6 pm for $30
for 4 weeks beginning October 23.
Latin Dance Salsa/Cha-Cha and Merengue is $30 for 4 weeks for
ages 18 and older on Fridays from 7:15 to 8:45 pm beginning October 24. The class introduces
the same fun moves found in today’s Latin club scene. Partners are not needed.
Musical Inspired Dance is $30 for 4 weeks for ages 6 to 12
from 4:30 to 5:30 pm beginning October 20. The class introduces musical inspired moves
such as those seen in High School Musical. Students are asked to wear fitted black clothing,
nothing baggy.
Polynesian Dance is available for ages 4 to 11 on Tuesdays
from 5:30 to 6:30 pm or for ages 12 and older on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Sessions
are $25 for 4 weeks beginning Tuesday, October 21 each. Students will learn the dances
of Hawaii, Tahiti, Tonga, Samoa, and Maori.
Contemporary/Modern Dance for ages 11 to 25 is offered on Mondays
from 7 to 8:30 pm beginning October 20 for $35 for 4 weeks. This interpretive dance class
challenges students to dance to the words of the song instead of the beat of the music.
This is a great opportunity to improve flexibility and core strength.
Little Prince and Princess Ballet for ages 3 to 7 is offered
on Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:15 pm beginning October 22 for $25 for 4 weeks. Students
enjoy learning basic movement in a fun atmosphere. Each class encourages the growth of
social skills and gives a sense of accomplishment.
