children to help themselves

Fontana,
California, September 15, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite the public
to register for upcoming classes in self-confidence building and etiquette at the Heritage
Neighborhood Center, located at 7350 W. Liberty Parkway. Classes include: Instilling
Character and Building Self-Confidence in Kids for parents is $25 for 4
weeks on Saturdays from 11 am to 12 pm beginning September 27. Mind Your
Manners is $40 for 4 weeks from 8:15 to 9:15 am for ages 6 to 12 or from
9:30 to 10:30 am for ages 13 to 18 beginning September 27. Watch Me Grow for
ages 2 to 5 is from 10 to 11:45 am beginning September 26 for $25 for 4 weeks, and All
About Me for $50 for 4 weeks and available for ages 9 to 12 beginning September
24 from 6 to 7 pm.
Instilling Character and Building Self-Confidence in Kids teaches
parents how to instill positive traits such as leadership, responsibility, and cultural
awareness in elementary and middle school-aged children. Topics include self-esteem,
academic achievement, and cooperation.
Mind Your Manners teaches girls and boys basic table manners
in a fun atmosphere. Participants dress for the occasion and learn sharing, social graces,
poise and building self-confidence.
Watch Me Grow gives parents an opportunity to play and learn
with their children. A variety of fun, interactive games are available each week.
All About Me helps girls to feel good about themselves by maximizing
their potential with their natural beauty and personality. Topics include hair and nail
care, color analysis, nutrition, exercise, posture and communication skills.
