Inland
Valley Regional Spelling Bee to air on KFON

Fontana,
California, April 28, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite cable viewers to tune into KFON, Cable
Access Channel 3 on Monday, May 5 at 7:00 pm to view the Inland Valley Regional Spelling Bee held on Saturday,
March 1, 2008 in Diamond Bar, CA.
The spelling bee, sponsored by the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library and the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin brought
thirty winning students from across the Inland Empire to the regional spelling bee. Two Fontana students were
ranked in the top three finalist category. The first place winner was given a trophy, a $100 savings bond, a
one year subscription to the Encyclopedia Britannica online website, a gift certificate for Merriam Webster’s
Collegiate Edition Dictionary, the official spelling bee dictionary for the student’s school, and a letter of
admission and all expense paid trip for two to the Scripps National Spelling Bee to be held on May 25 through
31 in Washington, D.C.
KFON programming includes regularly scheduled city council meetings, commission meetings, a Focus on Fontana show,
