Towers and Turrets is a study in architecture and the detail
that can be found in any type of building. The focus is on the famed Russian towers and
turrets found throughout the country.
Colored Repoussé introduces the ancient art form of using metals
such as gold, silver, copper, and tin as ornamental pieces for armor, jewelry, even telling
a story. Students will enjoy creating 3 dimensional surfaces by pressing a design into
a sheet of metal.
Mosaic Tile Art, as can be viewed at the new Fontana Park,
encourages creativity to create a detailed piece of art using tile mosaics.
Screen Painting, a Fontana favorite also recognized as the
study in Pop Art will introduce students to the technique made famous by Warhol. Colorful
compositions will be used three times to create work of art reminiscent of the famed
artist.
Things that Make you Scream is a study of expressionist art
focusing on The Scream, one of the most famous images in the world of art. It was painted
in 1893 at Oslofjord in Edvard Munch’s homeland of Norway, and has now been replicated
in various ways in pop culture.
