August Performances at Steelworkers’ Auditorium
Fontana, California. The Mayor and City Council invite the public to the free performances at the Steelworkers’ Auditorium, located in the Lewis Library and Technology Center, 8437 Sierra Avenue.
Beginning Saturday, August 8 at 2 pm, Inspired Entertainment will showcase Flamenco Dancing featuring Yvette Garcia. Join Yvette for a Flamenco Dance performance combining colorful costumes, lively music, and skilled dancing with multiple performers. Featured at the Fontana Arts Festival on July 23, Yvette Garcia’s love and passion for dance will enthrall and delight audience members.
On Saturday, August 22 at 2 pm, The Animal Guys explore animal behavior during the City’s Active Creation. The Animal Guys bring animals from around the world to explore animal survival, feeding behavior and habitat. Audience members are invited to experience the diversity and excitement nature offers with this hands-on educational performance.
Monthly performances conclude with a unique Music Musings featuring live mandolin music by Chris Murphy in the courtyard of the Lewis Library and Technology Center on August 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The mandolin, an instrument originating in Italy in the 1700s, has for centuries, been utilized for various types of music from classical pieces to the featured instrument in American bluegrass in the 1940s.
