Parks and Recreation Commission
The City Council has authorized the City of
Fontana Parks and Recreation Commission to foster positive inter group relations between all people of the
community. The Commission also works to provide diversified recreation and sports programs, after-school
programs, senior citizen programs and special events and services, along with developing programs which
will generate revenue to the City. Above all else, the Commission works to cooperate with all other governmental
agencies and civic groups in the advancement of sound recreation planning and programming.
The Parks & Recreation Commission consists of Seven (7) members, five (5) residents of the community
appointed by the City Council to serve one year terms and two (2) members appointed by the Fontana Unified
School District. Prior to May 1999, appointees were subject to a four year term. Current members

The Commission holds regularly scheduled meetings held:
- Parks and Recreation Commission meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 7 pm in the Council Chambers in City Hall, located at 8353 Sierra Avenue.
- Notices for Commission meetings are are
posted on the public bulletin board at City Hall.
