Road Closures/Detours

  • I-10/CYPRESS AVENUE OVERCROSSING: Please be advised of the following closures to be in effect in conjunction with the I-10/Cypress Overcrossing Project.
    Local Streets:

    BOYLE AVERoad Closure: Please be advised that effective immediately, Boyle Avenue will be closed at Cypress Avenue to facilitate utility work. A posted detour route using Juniper Ave. or Oleander Ave. will guide motorists through the area. Cypress Ave. between Slover Ave. and Boyle Ave. will remain open to local residents only. Boyle Avenue will remain permanently closed at Cypress Avenue as part of the Cypress Avenue at Interstate 10 Overcrossing project. Caution should be used when traveling through this area.

  • Foothill Boulevard – East Avenue to Cherry Avenue & Citrus Avenue to Oleander Avenue: Please be advised that to facilitate the installation of a raised median between East Avenue and Cottonwood Avenue and installation of landscaping in the existing median between Cottonwood Avenue and Cherry Avenue, travel lanes on Foothill Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes each direction during construction. Construction will commence on September 9, 2009 and continue through January, 2010. Motorists are advised to travel through the work zone area with caution and to use alternate routes when possible.

  • Baseline Avenue - Citrus Avenue to Sierra Avenue: Please be advised that the final phase of construction is now being implemented. Westbound traffic is being diverted to the north side of the median and eastbound traffic will remain on the south side. The overall construction period will be from May 27, 2008 thru February 2010. The work area will be in the center of the roadway, on each side of the median. Expect traffic delays, use alternate routes when possible.

  • Jurupa Avenue - Poplar Avenue to Sierra Avenue Street Improvements: Please be advised that the final phase of construction is now implemented. To facilitate the project construction, the travel lanes on Jurupa Avenue will be reduced for eastbound and westbound directions. Westbound traffic has now been diverted to the north side of the median and eastbound traffic is on the south side. The work area will be in the center of the roadway, on each side of the median. Expect traffic delays, use alternate routes when possible.
    Project beginning October, 2008 through December, 2009.

  • Slover Avenue at Live Oak Avenue: Please be advised that to facilitate signal preemption work, the signal energize date has been postponed. This work will provide coordination between the signal operation and the rail gate operation. U.P.R.R. has began the design to implement proper timing, construction by U.P.R.R. will follow. City anticipates the delay to be through December 2009.

  • Valley Boulevard at Juniper Avenue – November 4-20, 2009: Please be advised that to obtain soil borings for utility locating at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Juniper Avenue, various lane closures will occur on Valley Boulevard and Juniper Avenue beginning Wednesday, November 4, 2009 through Friday, November 20, 2009. The work will occur between the hours of 9:00am and 3:30pm. Motorists are advised to travel through the work zone area with caution and to use alternate routes when possible.

  • Foothill Boulevard – Cherry Avenue to Hemlock Avenue: Please be advised that to facilitate the installation of a new water mainline on Foothill Boulevard between Cherry Avenue and Hemlock Avenue, travel lanes on Foothill Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction during construction. Construction will commence on November 15, 2009 and continue through December 18, 2009. The work will be performed at night between the hours of 9:00pm and 5:00am, Sunday through Thursday nights. Motorists are advised to travel through the work zone area with caution and to use alternate routes when possible.

  • State Route 210 – Sierra Avenue to Ayala Avenue: Please be advised that to facilitate filming, the closure for eastbound direction of State Route 210 has been changed to the hours of 11 AM to 9 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2009. In addition, during this time, there will be rolling closures on the westbound direction on this segment. There will be no closure on Sunday, November 22, 2009. For eastbound traffic, there will be a posted detour route utilizing South Highland Avenue. Expect traffic delays. Motorists are advised to travel through the work zone area with caution and to use alternate routes when possible.   • Sierra Avenue – Ceres Avenue to Orange Way: November 18, 2009 - Please be advised that to facilitate the relocation of traffic signal poles at the southeast corner of Sierra Avenue and Orange Way, northbound travel lanes on Sierra Avenue between Ceres Avenue and Orange Way will be closed between the hours of 10:00pm and 3:00am. A posted detour route using Juniper Avenue or Mango Avenue will guide motorists through the area. In Addition, the eastbound travel lanes on Orange Avenue approaching the intersection at Sierra Avenue will be reduced to one lane. Caution should be used when traveling through this area.
